We hit the races this weekend. Jake, Bel Ray, Gunnar and Jace came into town to race their bikes. Tristen and I went and hung out with Jake Friday night and checked out the new enclosed bike trailer (loved it) and the wiener Bel Ray. Saturday, Tristen had a baby shower for her cousin so I went and hung with the boys. We ate some junk food, joined the crazies who go and watch the races (for the sake of the other spectators I left the spaghetti stained beater shirt at home), watched Jake drool over the Monster Drink girl kissing Bel Ray wishing she was kissing him instead, awed at the crashes as Jake ran on the course to help pick up the scraps and get the riders back on their way, and missed Aunt Nat. Thanks for the entertaining and fun day boys. Check out the pics from the race. The one pic with all three of them shows Gunnar in red, Jace in blue, and Jake holding the broom after he just swept the concrete to get them a better start. Thanks again guys and we'll have to come see another race this year.
Girl Your My Angel!!! Closer than my peeps you are to ME!!! Happy Valentines Day!!! I was trying to think of what I could get you for Valentine's Day that you would like. Here is the best I could come up with. I hope you like it. I love you!!! Happy Valentine's Day!!! I won't make this post too long since I know how much you love the song... so click to the next song and move on. I LOVE YOU!
I remember when we first met. You had just finished school in Wyoming and moved back to Boise. You started attending the singles ward with my friends. In fact, you started dating Jared. Then, when you and Jared broke up I remember sitting in the library one day working on the computer at Boise State. I saw you from across the way... you were wearing workout tights. You got something off of the printer and I was trying to get Ferg's attention to check you out as all shallow college guys do!!! Then you went over and started talking to him. When you got done I went over and he told me it was you. He had been telling me about you and wanted to hook us up. It took a couple of months before we would finally meet and once again I was checking you out. Jared and I walked into the institute and there you were bent over trying to get candy from the candy machine. I looked at Jared and was like there you go... there's you some ladies. Little did I know I was telling my friend to check out his ex-girlfriend's and my future wife's backside!!! It wasn't long after that I knew I wanted you as my LADY!!!
Yep! That's what it took. It was Christmas Day. We had started dating the week leading up to Christmas. Christmas Eve we spent with your family and then you came over to my place for Christmas evening. Somehow we ended up dancing in the kitchen after the family left and then I walked you out to your brother's truck. That's right, Tyler, our first kiss was in your truck. Tristen, you sat in the driver's seat and I was standing outside... remeber this??? I was giving you some eskimo kisses and you were getting annoyed I wouldn't just kiss you. So you said... "You going to kiss me already???" That was our first kiss... and thankgoodness not our last. I love kissing you!!!
Well you don't have to listen to the song too long get where this one is going!!! Since this is a family sight and rated 'G' let us just announce to those who haven't heard that we are expecting... now you all can just enjoy the music. We are due September 7th. We are both extremely exited. If you've seen Tristen lately she is still beautiful as ever and you wouldn't even suspect it. If you've seen me lately you would be wondering if I was the one having the baby and having triplets. Sorry, its called 4 weeks on the road for work eating out all the time... and as for the stench... it isn't the prenatal vitamins!!! That's the system adjusting back and forth from fast food and home food. Anyways, the last bit was added in there to get your mind off the lyrics. In all seriousness we are so excited to start our family and enjoy all the pains that come along with it. Tristen, you are going to be an amazing mother. I am can't wait to share this opportunity of parenthood with you.
Monday as we sat there in the doctor's office and waited I thought to myself "I am glad I took the time to come this time." Then as we went into the office and the doctor put the monitor on your stomach and there was an instant heartbeat... I realized these are the moments we have to stop and enjoy because if we don't the next thing we know that thumping from that little heart is going to be a bigger thump in a six year old heart. I am glad I was able to share that moment with you.
You know there are so many little moments I could talk about that I enjoy with you... from the crunching of crackers in my ear at 2 a.m.... to getting to taste you awesome desserts... to getting up in the middle of the night and making rounds through the house half asleep to make sure if there is someone in the house I kick them out (even though at that moment I would probably get rocked before I realized someone was there)... to making rushed Sonic runs for half price drinks even though we can afford full price any time... to you laughing at me as I try and balance on the exercise ball, of which I kept trying to make you laugh until I fell into (I mean through) the cupboards and then you tried to act mad... to you getting mad at me for laughing uncontrollably when I am supposed to be arguing with you... to you getting mad because my alarm woke you up at 5 a.m. even though you woke me up 3 times throughout the night... You know the list could go on and on forever. You always ask me why I love you and why I married you... well there you have it... I get to share those moments with you!!!
