GO BSU!!! BEAT FRESNO!!!

Aidree attended her first BSU game at Great Grandma Rasmussen's. We had BLT's and corn. Unfortunately for Aidree, she wasn't able to enjoy the corn and bacon. Give it a year or two and she'll be able to partake more in the festivities.
Since we sleep almost all day it only seems fitting to take a pregame nap before we put on our game day gear... that and we had to wait for Aunt Kim to bring over my BSU outfit.
Once we awoke from our nap it was time to get ready. The gear is a little big, but it all worked out. We had to get in the car seat... which is a chore. Being confined is not what Aidree considers fun... but we were able to get a picture of her in the carseat without the tears.
Once we got to Great Grandma Rasmussen's house Aidree was pretty good. She finally got to see Aunt Becky and got to see all the cousins. Someday she'll be able to go outside and play hopscotch with the cousins.

Aidree Lin - A New Angel Among Us

Well, she is finally here. From a biased father's perspective the cutest little girl was just sent to Earth. Aidree finally made it here at 10:16 am, September 12, 2009. It was a tough one and she was so good at growing before she came she really made it difficult for mom. At nearly 9 lbs (8 lbs. and 15 oz.) and a whole 22 inches long she did a number to mom, but thank goodness mom is finally starting to recoup. Aidree didn't come out of the battle unscathed. She got a shiner herself. She was rolled over and was trying to enter the birth canal with her face resulting in a swollen head and a nice shiner. She was cute even with the shiner and swollen face and head, but once the swollen face left she attracted sooo much attention the nurses started hinting we were having too many guests.
She was a big hit with her little girl cousins who were just sooo excited to see her. They just wish she would act her size and play a little with them instead of eat, sleep and cry. Too bad some of them are still too young to hold her. They were so excited and just wanted to touch her and play with her. Some did get to hold her... but with some assistance. :)
Then, of course there were the grandparents and great grandparents. Aidree Lin was named after her two grandmothers (Dree and Linda). She loves just to snuggle with both of them and show them how cute she really is.
Last, but not least, are her parents. We are so excited to finally have our little angel with us. She did a job on her mom, but I think her mom has forgiven her already and thinks she is the greatest. Her dad is just proud of the two women he lives with now. Proud of Tristen's courage and sacrifice during the birthing process, and proud of how precious his little girl is. She truly is our little angel. We hope you all enjoy the pictures and feel of her precious spirit as we get to each and every day!

Birthdays

We celebrated our birthdays over the past two weeks. Tristen is now a quarter century!!! One OLD HOT MOMMA!!! We had the big yard birthday cake inflatable out in our front yard and some random high school girls stopped by and gave the birthday girl some guppies. It was pretty funny... awkward... but funny. For my birthday we had my side of the family over for a BBQ. You can see the girls and I out on the hammock. I was teaching them how to get the seed out of the cherries from our tree... and Abby, thinking she had the seed, pulled out a worm. I tried to teach them not to eat the ones with the worm holes in them, but that apparently was ineffective. Nothing like some extra protein. Then I had to tell her since she swallowed the seed she may get a cherry tree growing out her ears... she bawled... of course. Mean uncle Mitch. We had fun birthdays and are thankful for the gifts we received... especially the cookie dough from my mother-in-law. The minute I think I am ready to cut back on the calories and lose some poundage my sweet mother-in-law decides I need a couple rolls of cookie dough to fatten me up so they can push on my stomach like I'm the dough boy. If only I had some self-control with sweets. Also, we can't help but appreciate the inappropriate cards from Troy. Last year it was the old man who needed to fart... this year it was the tan man in his fluorescent green speedo sun bathing. Thanks Troy... you scar us for life one card at a time!!!
In preparation for Tristen's baby shower, we took some pictures of her and her prego profile... sounds like some spaghetti sauce or something!!! Kayc we posted that picture just for you... and if you haven't noticed I have now learned how to post pictures in the post so you can click on them and they are as big as you want them. NOW... you better be happy and I better not here you complain anymore!!! You've got both your wishes.

'Girls' Trip

The first week of May my sisters, mom and friend Pam went on a girls trip. We had so much fun. We started out in Chicago. The tourbus guide told us everything we needed to know, and then some about the big city. After going to museums, the Shed aquarium, the Hershey's factory and Giaradelli's (where I paid 8 dollars for a sundae!), we headed to the quaint little town of Holland Michigan for the tulip festival. I've never seen so many tulips in my life, every color and kind imaginable. Terah had fun pretending to be a photographer and took a pic. of I think almost every tulip we saw! After three days in Michigan we went to the Gap outlet in Cincinnati, any shopaholic's dream. Thank goodness because I was in need of maternity pants. We ended our girls trip in Kentucky and went to the Glitz, my all time favorite restaurant in Kentucky where the nonesuch kiss is served, sounds forbidden, but it's just a yummy desert. After nine days with the girls I was happy to get back to the only man in my life, I think he was happy too!

'Dirtbike' Races

We hit the races this weekend. Jake, Bel Ray, Gunnar and Jace came into town to race their bikes. Tristen and I went and hung out with Jake Friday night and checked out the new enclosed bike trailer (loved it) and the wiener Bel Ray. Saturday, Tristen had a baby shower for her cousin so I went and hung with the boys. We ate some junk food, joined the crazies who go and watch the races (for the sake of the other spectators I left the spaghetti stained beater shirt at home), watched Jake drool over the Monster Drink girl kissing Bel Ray wishing she was kissing him instead, awed at the crashes as Jake ran on the course to help pick up the scraps and get the riders back on their way, and missed Aunt Nat. Thanks for the entertaining and fun day boys. Check out the pics from the race. The one pic with all three of them shows Gunnar in red, Jace in blue, and Jake holding the broom after he just swept the concrete to get them a better start. Thanks again guys and we'll have to come see another race this year.

My 'ANGEL'

Girl Your My Angel!!! Closer than my peeps you are to ME!!! Happy Valentines Day!!! I was trying to think of what I could get you for Valentine's Day that you would like. Here is the best I could come up with. I hope you like it. I love you!!! Happy Valentine's Day!!! I won't make this post too long since I know how much you love the song... so click to the next song and move on. I LOVE YOU!

You're My 'Lady'

I remember when we first met. You had just finished school in Wyoming and moved back to Boise. You started attending the singles ward with my friends. In fact, you started dating Jared. Then, when you and Jared broke up I remember sitting in the library one day working on the computer at Boise State. I saw you from across the way... you were wearing workout tights. You got something off of the printer and I was trying to get Ferg's attention to check you out as all shallow college guys do!!! Then you went over and started talking to him. When you got done I went over and he told me it was you. He had been telling me about you and wanted to hook us up. It took a couple of months before we would finally meet and once again I was checking you out. Jared and I walked into the institute and there you were bent over trying to get candy from the candy machine. I looked at Jared and was like there you go... there's you some ladies. Little did I know I was telling my friend to check out his ex-girlfriend's and my future wife's backside!!! It wasn't long after that I knew I wanted you as my LADY!!!

"You going to 'Kiss Me' already?" - Tristen

Yep! That's what it took. It was Christmas Day. We had started dating the week leading up to Christmas. Christmas Eve we spent with your family and then you came over to my place for Christmas evening. Somehow we ended up dancing in the kitchen after the family left and then I walked you out to your brother's truck. That's right, Tyler, our first kiss was in your truck. Tristen, you sat in the driver's seat and I was standing outside... remeber this??? I was giving you some eskimo kisses and you were getting annoyed I wouldn't just kiss you. So you said... "You going to kiss me already???" That was our first kiss... and thankgoodness not our last. I love kissing you!!!

'Firecracker'

Well you don't have to listen to the song too long get where this one is going!!! Since this is a family sight and rated 'G' let us just announce to those who haven't heard that we are expecting... now you all can just enjoy the music. We are due September 7th. We are both extremely exited. If you've seen Tristen lately she is still beautiful as ever and you wouldn't even suspect it. If you've seen me lately you would be wondering if I was the one having the baby and having triplets. Sorry, its called 4 weeks on the road for work eating out all the time... and as for the stench... it isn't the prenatal vitamins!!! That's the system adjusting back and forth from fast food and home food. Anyways, the last bit was added in there to get your mind off the lyrics. In all seriousness we are so excited to start our family and enjoy all the pains that come along with it. Tristen, you are going to be an amazing mother. I am can't wait to share this opportunity of parenthood with you.

"Don't Blink" Moments

Monday as we sat there in the doctor's office and waited I thought to myself "I am glad I took the time to come this time." Then as we went into the office and the doctor put the monitor on your stomach and there was an instant heartbeat... I realized these are the moments we have to stop and enjoy because if we don't the next thing we know that thumping from that little heart is going to be a bigger thump in a six year old heart. I am glad I was able to share that moment with you.

The "Little Moments"

You know there are so many little moments I could talk about that I enjoy with you... from the crunching of crackers in my ear at 2 a.m.... to getting to taste you awesome desserts... to getting up in the middle of the night and making rounds through the house half asleep to make sure if there is someone in the house I kick them out (even though at that moment I would probably get rocked before I realized someone was there)... to making rushed Sonic runs for half price drinks even though we can afford full price any time... to you laughing at me as I try and balance on the exercise ball, of which I kept trying to make you laugh until I fell into (I mean through) the cupboards and then you tried to act mad... to you getting mad at me for laughing uncontrollably when I am supposed to be arguing with you... to you getting mad because my alarm woke you up at 5 a.m. even though you woke me up 3 times throughout the night... You know the list could go on and on forever. You always ask me why I love you and why I married you... well there you have it... I get to share those moments with you!!!

'Waitin' on a Woman'

Well what can I say? This I threw in because it is V-day... I laid in bed awake waiting for you to wake up... decided to add some more posts while I waited... finished all the posts I wanted to add... and am still waiting on you to wake up. That's alright... "Honey take your time, cause I don't mind... waitin' on a woman!" I love you and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
